First Friday at the St Louis Science Center – 8/3/12 6-10 pm Forest Park

Science Center First Fridays’ attendees also receive FREE parking.

Unless otherwise noted, all activities are FREE.

Tour Amazing Nano Worlds! 6 to 10pm
First Fridays Discount Price: $6 (Non-Member adult) and $5 (Non-Member child)
Exhibition entry on the half hour; last entry at 9pm.
7 pm Seeing the Very, Very Small with Mary Ann Clark (CenterStage, Lower Level)
Get creative with science! Visitors are invited to explore microscopy, the science & art of using microscopes to create images that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Found in the Nano Art Gallery.
Mary Ann Clark from Manhattan, KS, one of the artists featured in our nano art exhibition, Seeing the Very, Very Small , & will be the featured presenter at the August 3 First Friday
Ride a Segway, 6 to 9pm (Exploradome, Main Level)
For just $5 you can ride for five minutes on a Segway!
Hands-on Science Activities, 6 to 9pm (Main Building, Main Level)
Learn more about nano properties and explore the world of microscopy at these Hands-on Science Activity Stations:
                        Washington University, Nano Research Facility
Magnification Stations:
Use one of these microscopes to explore the topics of Marine Life or Birds. A stereopscope allows you to look at specimens that would be too thick to otherwise see. What do you notice?
Compound Microscopes:
Use the classic compound light microscope to examine micrscopic life, cells, and plant tissues. Get a closer look at the things all around you that can’t be seen by the naked eye!
Use this digital computer microscope to examine rock and fossil specimen from the Fossil Prep Lab.

Stop by and check out real samples of meteorites

Evening pricing ($6, all tickets) applies for OMNIMAX format movies.
The 10pm science fiction movie is FREE; seating is limited and a ticket is required for entry. Pick up your free tickets at the box office while supplies last.
