Animal Adventures Birthday Parties
Birthday Party Program
Experience a true Zoo animal adventure for your next birthday party, and leave all the details to us!
All parties are led by Education Department staff and include:
- Private party area just for you and your guests
- Individual birthday cakes and beverages for adults and children
- Tableware (We use real plates and cups to help reduce waste.)
- Fun animal-related games, crafts or activities
- A gift for the birthday child
- Customize your party with extra opportunities for your guests (see sidebar).
Party Packages

Party Like a Penguin (offered December – March)
- Recommended for groups with guests between the ages of 4-9
- 60 minutes in a reserved party area in The Living World
- Live animals* to see and touch (* will not include a penguin)
- Private tour of Penguin & Puffin Coast exhibit space (this is not a behind-the-scenes tour)
- Offered on select weekends December through March at 2:00 p.m.
- Includes one Zoo Penguin adoption for the birthday child. Additional adoptions may be purchased.
- Theme: Penguins
Cost: $500 for up to 30 guests, includes adults and children. No additional guests can be accommodated. Each child 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum 1:4 adult to child ratio. Zoo Members at the Family level or higher receive a discount of $50.
Wildlife Wonders Party
- Recommended for groups with guests 1 – 5 years old
- 45 minutes in the Wild Wonder Outpost discovery room
- 45 minutes in reserved party area for live animals, cupcakes and gift
- Live animals to see and touch
- Offered year-round on weekends at 10:00 a.m. and 2 p.m. Also offered at 5:00 p.m. during the summer. (Other days may be available by special request.)
Cost: $400 for up to 30 guests (adults and children), $7 for each additional guest. Each child 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There is a 1:4 adult to child ratio for children 4 and older. Maximum 40 people allowed. Zoo Members at the Family level or higher receive a discount of $40.
Dynamic Discovery Party
- Recommended for groups with guests 6 years old and up
- 20 minutes of introductory activities in the Insectarium
- 90 minutes in reserved party area for activities, cupcakes and gifts
- Offered year-round on weekends at 10:00 a.m. and 2 p.m. Also offered at 5:00 p.m. during the summer. (Other days may be available by special request.)
- Theme choices: Caring Keepers or Zoolympians
Cost: $400 for up to 25 guests (adults and children), $7 for each additional guest. Each child 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There is a 1:4 adult to child ratio for children 4 and older. Maximum 40 people allowed. Zoo Members at the Family level or higher receive a discount of $40.
Aquatic Adventure Party (offered April 19 – July 27, 2014)
- Recommended for groups with guests between the ages of 4-8
- 60 minutes in a reserved party area for activities, cupcakes and gifts
- Admission to Stingrays at Caribbean Cove Featuring Sharks for birthday party guests
- Complementary Stingray feeding for the birthday child (guests may have the opportunity to purchase stingray food)
- Offered on select weekends April 19 through July 27, 2014 at 10 a.m., 2 p.m, and 4 p.m. (summer season only).
- Theme: Sharks, Stingrays, and Sea Lions
Cost: $300 for up to 20 guests (adults and children), $6 for each additional guest with a maximum group size of 32. Each child 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There is a 1:4 adult to child ratio for children 4 and older. Zoo Members at the Family level or higher receive a discount of $30.
Make a Reservation
Please call (314) 646-4544, #6, or submit an inquiry form. We require a signed agreement and full payment to hold your date. We suggest reserving at least one month in advance.
Payment
Full payment is due when you make your reservation.
