Cherokee Street Community Dance Day 2017

Cherokee Street Community Dance

Day 2017

Saturday, November 4 at 11 AM – 5 PM

Coinciding with the Cherokee Street Jazz Crawl 2017, Community Dance Day is a day of dance classes in a variety of styles! All classes are FREE and open to the public. This day is designed to be a celebration of community and the dance traditions that bring us together.

How does it work? We’ve booked some of the best-of-the-best artists from around St. Louis to share an intro to their dance style with you. No experience or partner is required, and you can stop in for one class at a time, or stay for the whole day! You do not need to pre-register–just show up!

11:00am – Intro to Swing Dancing with St. Louis Jitterbugs
12:00pm – Intro to Hip Hop with Ashley Tate
1:00pm – Intro to STL Bop with Marqua McGull
2:00pm – Footsweeps and Grooves with Martell Stepney
3:00pm – Intro to STL Shag with St. Louis Jitterbugs
4:00pm – Intro to African Dancing with Alicia Sunshine

Folks of all ages are welcome! Family friendly-bring your kids, moms, uncles and aunties. Youth under age 14 should be accompanied by a guardian.

While you’re here for CDD, check out the live music all over Cherokee Street for the Cherokee Street Jazz Crawl 2017.
