Blessing of the Pets in St Louis! 10/6 & 10/7/12
Thursday, October 4, is the feast of St. Francis. Many of the stories that surround the life of St. Francis deal with his love for animals. On this feast day, many schools and parishes have a “Blessing of Pets”.
St. Catherine of Siena American National Catholic Church and Trinity Episcopal Church will hold a joint annual Blessing of the Animals, officiated by Rev. Anne Kelsey and Fr. Phillip Lichtenwalter at 5pm on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Trinity Courtyard located at the corner of Euclid and Maryland 63108

On Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at 5 p.m., bring your family, friends and coworkers—and
all your animal friends, of course—to “A Celebration of Creation: The Feast of
St. Francis (including the Blessing of the Animals).” The address is Christ
Church Cathedral, 1210 Locust St., Saint Louis, MO 63103 (at the corner of 13th
and Olive).
St Mark’ Church – An Episcopal Church – 4712 Clifton St Louis MO 63139 – Sunday, October 7, 2012 Calling all dogs, cats, reptiles, parakeets, furry things and crawling things of all kinds! During the 10am worship service, in which we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis, all creatures for we are caretakers of are invited to come forward to the altar to be blessed. Weather permitting, we will gather outside on the lawn and process into the church for this celebration of all creation. All pets need to be firmly under their caretaker’s control at all times (leashes, carriers, cages, etc.). Whether a pet rules your life or not, please join us for this special liturgy.
