SLOCA is planning its second annual wine tasting on Tuesday, October 9. The first event, in 2011, succeeded in raising more than $1,400 and attracted a group of people who had never before attended a SLOCA event.
For a $20 donation to SLOCA, wine lovers can sample wines from the Garco Wine Co. and enjoy appetizers from 6 to 8 p.m. at the trendy wine bar and restaurant, 3500 Winehaus, at 3500 Watson Road at Potomac Avenue.
The Winehaus will give SLOCA $1 for every glass of tasting wine purchased and $2 for every bottle of tasting wine purchased. Shoppers will also enjoy a 30 percent discount on the purchase of a case of the wines being sampled.
