Southampton Neighborhood Update – 9/3/12

The Southampton Neighborhood is a peaceful, charming neighborhood of tree-lined streets. Housing styles include “Neo-Tudor, Brick, Arts & Crafts homes and “Four Square” two story homes featuring gabled roofs, and friendly plant-filled porches, art glass and hard-wood floors. ~Southampton Neighborhood Association website


Southampton was voted the #1 Place to Live in the St. Louis Metro Area by the Riverfront Times editorial staff in 2009 and is rated as one of the top residential choices for families in the 25-35 age bracket according to the United States Census.

From January 1 to September 3, 2012 – There have been 73 Single Family Homes Sold in Southampton (SOHA).  There have been opportunities for rehabbers/investors in the neighborhood as well as completely rehabbed/updated homes.  The prices have ranged from $29,500 (1 bedroom rehab) to $220,000 (3 bedroom, 2 bath updated home).  With all the homes sold the median price is $135,000.  The average square foot for these 73 homes has been 1358.    Stats pulled from MARIS (St Louis MLS)
