Halloween gets spooky at the Saint Louis Science Center’s first annual Science Spooktacular!

Bring your little ghouls, goblins, astronauts and dinosaurs to our Halloween event and let them get hands-on with spell-binding science. Explore the science of boo-ology, get spooked in our Haunted Lab and enjoy a family-friendly Halloween event on October 30. Make your own slimy creation – oobleck! See pumpkins go splat from the highest floor of the Science Center. Observe the moon at our telescope viewings, and much more!
General admission to this event is free. Additional fees apply for some spooky programming. We encourage you and your family to come in costume. We ask that visitors over 12 years of age please leave their masks at home. No weapons are allowed on the Saint Louis Science Center premise.
Free activities:
-See pumpkins fall from the highest floor of the Science Center in our Amazing Science Demonstration, Spooky Science Goes Splat!
-Observe the First Quarter Moon with our free telescope viewings!
-See “Garfield in Disguise” and “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” for free in the OMNIMAX® Theater (tickets required)!
-Make your own slimy creation – Oobleck!
-Explore Halloween optical illusions in our Prep Lab.
-Learn about force and motion by going Ghost Pumpkin Bowling!
-Prepare your trick-or-treater and learn a science joke for Halloween night.
-Make a monster in our Halloween Maker Space!
Additional FREE activities exclusively for Saint Louis Science Center Members:
-Discover how to spook up your Halloween in the Haunted Lab! Space is limited, advance reservations required. Call 314.289.4424 to book your spot today!
-See a special presentation exploring the Halloween sky in the James S. McDonnell Planetarium (tickets required).
-Explore the Discovery Room at your own pace in our open house setting (tickets required)!
Additional activities:
-Solve the mystery and visit The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes ($13.50 for Members, $17.50 for non-Members)!
-Take a ride through a haunted mine on our motion simulator ($4 for Science Center Members, $5 for non-Members)!
-See a special presentation exploring the Halloween sky in the James S. McDonnell Planetarium ($4 for non-Members).
-Explore the Discovery Room at your own pace in our open-house setting ($3 for non-Members)!
