Cinema at Citygarden – May 25-June 30 – Downtown

May 25 – June 30, 2012
Cinema at Citygarden – a co-presentation of Cinema St. Louis (CSL) and Gateway Foundation – is pleased to announce the winners of its second annual juried competition. St. Louis-area filmmakers created short works that incorporated Nature as a key element. The winning shorts will be featured along with seven other competition films in a program that will play on a loop from 6 – 11 p.m. daily on Citygarden’s Video Wall at 9th & Chestnut Streets through the end of June.

The thee winning works, whose filmmakers will receive cash prizes are: First-Place Award ($1,500) for “Elm” directed by Mike McCubbins, Second-Place Award ($1,000) for “Birds on a Wire” directed by Virginia Lee Hunter, and Third-Place Award ($500) for “The Current” directed by Thomas Malkowicz.

Additional features are “Ducks on Concrete,” directed by David Rocco, “First Snow,” directed by David DeNagel, “Inverno Romanza,” directed by Mark Lovelace, “Maison Des Reveurs,” directed by Rita Hunt, “Nested,” directed by Ben Schmidt, “Remember,” directed by Sylvia B. Geiger, and “Toky!,” directed by Jamie D. Jessop.
